Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to lead the implementation of projects aimed at enhancing ecological and social outcomes from environmental water and natural resource management activities in the Murray-Darling Basin.
Main Responsibilities:
* To develop and implement effective strategies for improving ecological, social and First Nations outcomes from environmental water and other natural resource management activities.
* To conduct research analysis and problem-solving to support successful resolution of natural resource management and policy issues within the Murray-Darling Basin.
* Maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders including team members, government organisations, First Nations people and their representative organisations, and community groups.
* Assist with preparation and coordination of briefing material, correspondence, submissions, contracts and other operational documents.
* Represent the organisation with tact professionalism patience and cultural sensitivity.

Requirements:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in environmental science ecology conservation biology natural resource management policy development or a related field.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to conduct research and provide evidence-based advice.
* Excellent communication interpersonal skills with ability to build maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities deadlines.
