As Senior Manager, Line 1 Risk supporting BOQ Specialist and Business Bank Productivity, you'll play a pivotal role in turning that belief into everyday practice.
Sitting at the heart of the business, you'll partner closely with product, credit, operations, and leadership teams to help them navigate complexity with confidence.
You'll provide trusted advice, insight, and constructive challenge across operational, regulatory, and conduct risk, ensuring first line accountability is strong and aligned to the BOQ Group Risk Management Framework.
Rather than operating at arm's length, you'll work alongside the business, enabling safe decision‐making while supporting momentum, efficiency and innovation.
You'll also play a key role in strengthening risk capability and culture. Through coaching, education, and proactive engagement, you'll help teams better understand risk, embed effective controls and respond thoughtfully to emerging issues.
As change and productivity initiatives progress across BOQ Specialist and the Business Bank, you'll represent Line 1 Risk, bringing an end‐to‐end lens to new ways of working and helping ensure changes are implemented safely and sustainably.
This role is for someone who enjoys influence without authority, values collaboration, and wants to make a genuine impact on how risk is understood, managed and lived across a complex financial services environment.
About You
You bring clarity to complexity and calm to ambiguity. You have a strong understanding of operational and regulatory risk and know how to apply frameworks in a practical, commercial way.
Your experience within financial services has given you an appreciation of balancing customer, commercial and risk outcomes, and you're comfortable working in regulated environments where judgement and integrity matter.
You build credibility quickly with senior leaders and frontline teams alike. You know how to challenge constructively, influence thoughtfully and translate risk insights into language that resonates.
Your analytical mindset is matched by your ability to communicate clearly, whether you're discussing emerging risks, governance uplift or control effectiveness.
You're also motivated by developing others. You enjoy coaching and mentoring, helping build capability and confidence across teams, and contributing to a strong, positive risk culture.
You are organised, self‐directed and collaborative, thriving in environments where autonomy is trusted and teamwork is essential.
