This Manager, Compliance and Regulatory Services (CARS) is a key member of the Lifestyle and Community Services (LCS) Divisional Leadership Team. The LCS Division provides the interface between Council and the Community. The CARS branch delivers a range of services which aim to protect and enhance the health, safety and amenity of Brisbane. It is a diverse branch which regulates a range of areas including amenity, advertisements, animal management, building work (excluding certification), environmental health, development (excluding assessment), footpath activities, entertainment venues and events, environmental activities, food premises, graffiti, natural area and vegetation, parking, public health and tolling enforcement.
This critical role will lead over 300 people in the delivery of community-centric regulatory services, ensuring exceptional service outcomes whilst maintaining a focus on increasing the effectiveness of technology and systems. You will drive collaboration and enable additional value creation across the areas that you manage, with a strong focus on performance outcomes and achievement.
A well-respected senior executive, you will ideally be able to demonstrate that you have led a diverse and complex organisation/division of significant size, in either a government or commercial environment. You must possess strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in managing effective relationships with peers and staff, and a proven track record in delivering tangible outcomes. You bring a high level of drive and motivation while taking a common-sense and pragmatic approach. Your values-based leadership will ensure that you contribute to BCC and the community in a meaningful way.
