About the role
This hands-on motel management and operations position is pivotal in ensuring smooth daily operations, maximising Average Daily Rate (ADR), occupancy levels, and maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Working closely with the owners, you are responsible for driving business success while delivering exceptional service to our guests.
Key Responsibilities
Guest services and reception: Manage guest check-ins, inquiries, and bookings with professionalism and a warm welcome
Revenue management: Monitor and adjust room rates in response to local events in liaison with the owners
Administration: Respond to guest feedback, manage stock orders and inventory, and maintain operational records
Property operations: Oversee housekeeping and laundry teams, basic room and property maintenance, pool care, and grounds upkeep
Must hold (or be willing to obtain) Food Safety Certification, as we offer our guests a continental breakfast.
Compliance and safety: Ensure adherence to Work Health & Safety (WHS), fire regulations, licensing, and essential service requirements
Trade and contractor liaison: Organise and coordinate external maintenance services when needed
To be successful, you must have:
Proven motel management experience in a hands-on role
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with a diverse range of guests and stakeholders
High level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Xero (or similar accounting software), and familiarity with Property Management Systems such as GuestPoint, with working knowledge of GDS and SiteMinder, is highly regarded
Experience working with online travel agencies (OTAS), including Booking.com and Expedia
Ability to live onsite, work weekends and public holidays
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
A current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
