About the Organisation
This role sits within a federal government agency tasked with ensuring that water management across the Murray–Darling Basin is lawful, transparent, and accountable. The organisation oversees compliance with legislative and regulatory frameworks, holding governments, agencies, and water managers accountable to the highest standards of integrity and performance.
With offices across both metropolitan and regional locations, the agency plays a vital role in supporting sustainable water management and public confidence in the delivery of the Basin Plan.

About the Branch & Team
The Operations Branch is responsible for strengthening organisational capability and delivering enabling support services across the agency. It provides governance advice, process improvement, and corporate systems support to ensure efficiency and compliance.
The Strategy & Governance section – specifically the People & Coordination team – acts as the corporate services hub. It supports HR, recruitment, Work Health & Safety (WHS), learning and development, change management, and overall office coordination.

About the Role
The Corporate Support Officer (APS6) plays a key role in delivering a wide range of corporate services and providing operational support across the organisation.
This is a dynamic and varied role, ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You’ll be the go-to person for corporate enquiries and will support functions spanning HR, recruitment, WHS, procurement, learning and development, and general corporate coordination.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and deliver corporate support services across HR, recruitment, WHS, learning and development, procurement, and administration.
- Act as the first point of contact for corporate enquiries, providing accurate and timely advice.
- Administer corporate systems, registers, and compliance processes.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, maintaining internal registers.
- Manage correspondence, shared inboxes, scheduling, and documentation preparation.
- Provide reporting, briefs, and decision-support material for leadership.
- Resolve moderately complex operational and stakeholder issues within established frameworks.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping in line with information management standards.

Knowledge & Experience

- Demonstrated experience in corporate, project, or administrative support within a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to multiple corporate service functions (HR, recruitment, WHS, procurement, office coordination).
- Understanding of governance and compliance frameworks.

Qualifications

- No mandatory qualifications.
- Desirable: Degree or diploma in Business, HR, Administration, Project Management, or related field.

Eligibility

- Must be an Australian Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
- Appointment is subject to pre-employment checks including police clearance, referee checks, character assessment, and medical (if required).
