Job Description:
A qualified Electrical Services Technician is required to join our team on stunning Hamilton Island. The role involves the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical distribution networks, ensuring a high standard of product quality and safety.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and operating High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical networks, as well as backup diesel generation plant. They will also be involved in installing, jointing and terminating HV and LV cabling, maintaining airport runway lighting systems, testing/auditing electrical installations and acting as first responder to passengers trapped in lifts.
Additionally, they will prioritise urgent repairs for guest safety and satisfaction, form part of an on-call roster rotation addressing out-of-hours breakdowns, and undertake the upkeep and repair of hazardous area equipment, specifically the island's fuel systems, as well as attending to the electrical needs of our water and sewerage plants, reading and maintaining the island's electrical energy meters.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful you will need:
- QLD Electrical Licence
- QLD open/unrestricted driver's licence
- Ability to be approved for and hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Willingness to be part of an 'on call' roster to attend out-of-hours breakdowns as required
- Experience in electrical distribution networks, SCADA and PLC systems (desired)
- High voltage switching and coordination experience and qualifications/accreditation (desired)
- Experience with electrical instrumentation systems associated with water and sewerage systems (desired)
- High voltage polymeric cable jointing and termination experience (desired)
- Experience with diesel powered generators (desired)
- Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) qualifications/accreditation (desired)
- Experience with Airfield Lighting basic (desired)
