As a Storyfest Events Assistant you'll play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of Storyfest events and programs. This position is ideal for an organized, proactive professional who loves working in dynamic, creative environments.
This is a fixed‑period appointment commencing January and concluding December, with potential for extension.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the online ticketing platform for all events.
* Provide high‑quality administrative support, including event scheduling, purchase orders, financial reconciliations, and database management.
* Assist in coordinating volunteers and supporting community engagement activities.
* Help deliver corporate and public events, from ticketing and logistics to on‑site support.
* Manage event documentation, meeting preparations, and assist with travel arrangements for the CEO.
* Contribute to the ongoing success and growth of Storyfest's educational and cultural programs.

Storyfest is a charity organisation based on the Gold Coast that develops and delivers children's literacy programmes primarily for children. Storyfest hosts Australia's leading children's literature and storytelling festival on the Gold Coast, inspiring thousands of young people each year to discover the joy of reading and creativity. We host engaging events, workshops, and experiences across multiple regions, celebrating local communities and Australian stories.
Ideal candidate
* Experience in events coordination or administration (qualification in Events Management desirable).
* Online ticketing experience is highly regarded.
* Strong organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Adobe Suite skills highly regarded).
* Excellent attention to detail and professional presentation.
* Working with Children Blue Card and be comfortable with occasional flexible hours.
