Program Officer – Mental Health Intake & Triage
Available at any HealthWISE NSW office: Tamworth, Armidale, Glen Innes, Gunnedah, Inverell, Moree, Narrabri
Part-time | Permanent | $34–$36 p/h | Hours negotiable
HealthWISE is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Program Officer to support mental health intake and triage across the New England North West region. This role is available from any of our NSW offices and offers flexibility for the right candidate.
As the first point of contact for referrals, you'll assess risk, plan for safety, and help connect people with the support they need. This role is key in ensuring people living with moderate to severe mental illness are guided toward recovery-focused services.
About the Role:
* Triage referrals and complete risk and safety assessments
* Provide intake services across HealthWISE's Wellbeing programs
* Support communication between clients, referrers, and internal teams
* Work within a stepped care and person-centred mental health model
* Support demand management and reporting processes
About You:
* Certificate IV in Mental Health (or equivalent)
* Experience in intake, triage, and safety planning
* Understanding of mental health services and referral pathways
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Comfortable using digital systems and telehealth platforms
* Able to work collaboratively and independently
