Short Description about the role:

WongDoody, a part of Infosys, is a leading technology and design consultancy that specializes in providing innovative solutions for government and large-scale organizations. We are currently seeking a talented Mid-Level User Researcher to join our dynamic team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of user experiences within the public sector, with a focus on projects in Canberra, Melbourne, or Sydney. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in user research, experience in government projects or larger organizations, and a proven ability to deliver valuable insights.

This role will work internally in our Wongdoody Unit, a little bit about the Unit is as below:

Job Location: Canberra, Melbourne, or Sydney

Responsibilities:
o Plan, Lead and oversee user research activities, including planning, conducting, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative research studies to uncover user behaviors, needs, motivations, and pain points.
o Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and developers, to ensure research objectives align with project goals and inform the design and development of user-centered solutions.
o Define research strategies, methodologies, and frameworks tailored to specific project needs, utilizing a range of techniques such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and ethnographic studies.
o Synthesize and analyze research findings, translating them into actionable insights and recommendations that drive informed design decisions and business outcomes.
o Create comprehensive research deliverables, including personas, journey maps, and user profiles, to effectively communicate research insights and foster empathy within the team and with stakeholders.
o Lead workshops, design sprints, and co-creation sessions to facilitate collaboration, ideation, and validation of design concepts with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
o Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging methodologies, and best practices in user research, and champion their adoption within the organization to continuously elevate research capabilities.
o Mentor and guide junior researchers, providing support and fostering their growth and development within the team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
o Minimum of 10 years of experience in user research, with a strong focus on government projects or larger organizations.
o Australian citizenship is required.
o Ability to obtain or possess baseline clearance is preferred.
o Extensive expertise in various user research methodologies and tools, such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and ethnographic studies.
o Proven track record of leading and executing user research studies, from planning and recruitment to analysis and synthesis of research findings.
o Exceptional ability to distill complex data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations that drive user-centered design solutions.
o Proficiency in creating research artifacts, including personas, journey maps, and user profiles, to effectively communicate research insights and foster empathy.
o Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to influence design decisions and advocate for user needs.
o Strategic mindset with strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills, coupled with a detail-oriented approach to research design and execution.
o Demonstrated ability to manage multiple research projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work.
o A portfolio showcasing previous user research projects and deliverables is highly desirable.
