The Opportunity
We’re seeking a proactive People and Safety Administration Officer to support safety initiatives, people management processes and coordinate payroll administration across our operations.
The role provides support to the People, Safety and Training Manager to ensure the business is compliant with legislative workplace health and safety requirements, employment legislation and internal policies.
This is key role, also responsible for coordinating payroll administration processes through accurate employee records and liaison between HR systems and the external payroll provider.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with maintaining the WHS management system
* Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and regulatory requirements
* Support emergency preparedness and safety consultation processes
* Promote a proactive safety culture across the business
* Maintain accurate HR systems, employee records and employment documentation
* Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and relevant Modern Awards
* Support induction and employee lifecycle processes
* Maintain accurate employee records including classifications, pay changes and leave records
* Maintain accurate payroll data collection including new starters, terminations and employment changes
* Coordinate payroll processing
About You
* Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or Certificate IV in Human Resource Management
* Previous experience in payroll management, workplace safety support, or HR or employee relations processes
* Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and regulatory requirements, Fair Work legislation and Modern Awards
* Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Discreet and professional when handling confidential information
* Strong documentation and record-keeping skills
* Hands-on, proactive, and approachable
* Capable of working independently and taking initiative, as well as contributing effectively within a team environment
* Previous knowledge and experience with HR management systems such as Employment Hero
