UNE Residential System and Childcare Services

* Continuing, full-time,
* $ 137,495 per annum (HEO10) + 17% super

About the role

The Head of College is responsible for the provision of a safe, academically oriented, and supportive educational and social environment within the Colleges, underpinning holistic student wellbeing and success. The Head of College works collaboratively with other Heads of College, university stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring integrated management of the Colleges, and equity across the Residential System. They will support the Director in providing strategic and operational leadership across all residential colleges, and implementing cultural change initiatives, service redesign, and contemporary best practices in student services, while ensuring compliance across all relevant legislation, including, the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender Based Violence, WHS obligations, child protection requirements, and university policies. This position makes a significant contribution to the learning journey of the Residential College residents providing pastoral care, academic support, and leadership to the students in our care.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* A sound understanding of academic support and personal development needs of students and the ability to empathetically and effectively deal with young adults and other diverse demographic groups, including international students
* Outstanding communication skills with high-level interpersonal, negotiation, mediation and liaison skills
* Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, with the ability to pivot strategies and respond quickly to challenges.
* Evidenced high level ability to independently organise and manage a wide variety of complex tasks and projects to meet conflicting priorities and deadlines and achieve high quality strategic outcomes, demonstrating a blend of proactive initiative, reliable autonomy, and collaborative support.

About Residential Services

The Residential Services and Childcare Services manage six residential colleges housing approximately 1,550 students and the Yarm Gwanga Early Education Centre, providing comprehensive living‐learning environments and early childhood education services that are central to the university community.
