**The Role**

Reporting to the Head of Evie's public fast charging business, you will develop and continuously update Evie's engineering design standards and equipment specifications. Working closely with the Deployment and Product teams, the Engineering Design Manager will ensure that Evie's growing network of public fast charging stations consistently achieve Evie's high standards for driver experience, deployment efficiency and network return on investment.

**Your duties will include**:

- Work closely across the Evie team, including the Network Planning, Product, ,Deployment, Network Operations, external consultants and suppliers.
- Ensure detailed designs and specifications capture Evie's standards for driver experience, deployment efficiency and network return on investment.
- Ensure all elements of the standard designs comply with Australian standards.
- Maintain a catalogue of approved charging and ancillary equipment that can be deployed at a range of sites as required..
- Define, test and manage charging network equipment software and configurations, ensuring common standards across the network.
- Manage the design and testing of new solutions that will be integrated into sites to solve site specific and network challenges.
- Manage the design and specification for variations to site designs and changes to site infrastructure including upgrades and decommissioning.
- Work with Network Operations to track the lifecycle of all equipment on site and plan for upgrades and replacements as required.
- Continuously improve all elements of Evie's detailed designs for the public charging network.

Electric cars in Australia is still largely uncharted territory which means your passion to make a difference, desire to use your initiative and continuous focus on excellence will ensure your success in this critical role.

**Skills and Experience**
- Degree or higher level qualification in Engineering or Science disciplines. Business qualifications also desirable.
- 5+ years experience in an engineering function, preferably in the energy industry.
- Excellent problem solving, business intuition and verbal / written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles and quality processes.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and industry guidelines for deploying electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
- Data analysis capabilities for reporting and generating insights.
- Details oriented, but equally comfortable working on strategic initiatives.
- High level of competence with Microsoft Office Suite tools.
- Critical thinking, curiosity and passion for making the world a better place.
- Ability to adapt quickly to a start-up business operating methodology.
- Hybrid Role - Based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
