Role Summary
This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to oral health and community connection. We are looking for a motivated Dental Assistant to join our friendly dental team.
The role plays a vital part in supporting the delivery of high-quality, culturally safe oral health care to clients. You will work closely with dentists and oral health therapists to provide chairside assistance, maintain infection control standards, prepare and sterilise instruments, and ensure a smooth and welcoming environment for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide assistance to clinicians in patient care including equipment preparation, instrument transfer, and moisture control; manage client wellbeing, provide oral health care, and offer post-operative instructions.
* Maintain high infection control standards in accordance with Australian guidelines and NSW Health policies, including correct PPE use, waste disposal, and instrument reprocessing and sterilisation.
* Ensure quality data management through digital information systems and accurate patient records.
* Participate in mandatory training as required, including monthly meetings and oral health promotion activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Recent experience as a Dental Assistant with adequate skills and qualifications.
* Demonstrated ability to assist clinicians in a four-handed environment, perform effective infection control procedures, and chart dental treatments accurately.
* Excellent communication skills, organisational abilities, and time-management skills.
