Lead Waratah Private Hospital through its next growth phase, driving sustainable performance, service expansion and clinical quality.
The organisation
Waratah Private Hospital is a facility within the Healthe Care network, delivering private healthcare services across surgical, medical and mental health programs. The hospital operates within a clear strategic framework, focused on safe and efficient service delivery while achieving sustainable commercial outcomes.
As part of a broader national group, Waratah benefits from network support while maintaining strong local accountability and executive autonomy. The hospital's priorities include service growth, maximising occupancy across inpatient and day patient activity and strengthening core clinical offerings aligned to its strategic plan.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Executive Officer is accountable for ensuring safe and efficient delivery of all hospital activity through effective executive leadership and management of all hospital and related services. This is a true executive P&L leadership role. The CEO is responsible for ensuring the hospital achieves a balance between efficient service delivery and high‐quality health outcomes while meeting strategic and operational objectives outlined in the hospital's strategic plan. The role drives sustainable business outcomes and growth of existing and new services, with accountability for maximising occupancy, expanding priority services and delivering optimal profitability aligned to the core business of the hospital.
A central component of the role is strengthening and expanding Visiting Medical Officer engagement. The CEO actively manages key VMO relationships, supports recruitment of new doctors and works collaboratively to build capability and activity growth. The CEO leads the Hospital Management Team and ensures robust governance, accreditation compliance, risk management and continuous quality improvement frameworks across the hospital. The role also oversees strategic plan implementation, operational alignment across business units and disciplined financial management including budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
This opportunity will appeal to a commercially minded hospital leader motivated by shaping strategy, building service growth and delivering sustained performance within a supportive national network. The scope of the role provides meaningful executive exposure across growth, operations, workforce, governance and service optimisation, and offers a strong platform for continued career progression. A competitive remuneration package is on offer, including STI and LTI components.
