Senior Pricing Analyst Sydney, NSW, Australia(Hybrid) Job Description The Global Commercial Services business provides a range of payment, working capital, and currency solutions to help mid-size companies and large corporations around the world manage almost all facets of their business spending. The GCS Pricing organization supports the growth and profit objectives of the GCS business by partnering with Sales & Account Development teams to create pricing constructs that balance market share goals with long term profitability. The Pricing Analyst will partner with the Sales team on the development of deal constructs and pricing strategy designed to drive profitable growth. The Analyst will focus on deals aimed at bringing new local, regional, and global clients based in APAC to the GCS franchise. In addition, the Analyst will be responsible for understanding and communicating the financial implication of proposed deals, as well as preparing competitive and portfolio analytics for senior leaders, business partners and clients. The Pricing Analyst will report to the APAC Pricing Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic thinker with strong financial and commercial acumen. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, think creatively about complex problems, and communicate financial and strategic issues effectively to internal and external clients. Responsibilities Structuring deals with the objective of balancing market share and profitability goals Partnering with Sales and Account Development teams on pricing strategy development Communicating the impact of proposed deals to leadership, internal and external clients Creating pricing analytics and deep dives on internal and competitive trends Leading ad hoc initiatives as required by Pricing / GCS leadership Partnering with Contracts, Controllership, Risk, and other cross functional teams to execute deals Qualifications Experience in business/financial analysis, banking, consulting or related discipline Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail Strong financial modelling skills with an ability to convert complex financials into a clear story Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level Proven ability to partner across multiple business functions and influence decisions Strong understanding of American Express' P&L and financial systems is a plus Bachelor's degree required (Finance or related discipline) At American Express, our culture is built on a 175-year history of innovation, shared values (https://www.americanexpress.com/en-us/company/who-we-are/) and Leadership Behaviors, and an unwavering commitment to back our customers, communities, and colleagues.
