Job Description

The Facilities Manager will oversee the facilities management of two office locations and ensure compliance with Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) requirements. This involves ensuring all facilities are maintained to a high standard, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, tag & test, and general maintenance.

The role requires developing and implementing maintenance programs and schedules to avoid downtime and maximise the lifespan of company assets. It also involves ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety and environmental regulations, managing workplace safety protocols, and handling emergency preparedness.

Regular risk assessments and safety audits are necessary to identify hazards and ensure compliance with legal and industry standards. Operational budgets and resources need to be managed effectively to optimise processes and reduce costs.

This position also involves managing relationships with suppliers and contractors, negotiating Service Agreements, quotes, and contracts, and ensuring compliance with organisational standards and legal requirements.

Additionally, the Facilities Manager will be responsible for AGSVA security clearance vetting for individuals, including new applications, existing clearances, DCAC applications, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, guidelines, and legislation.

Access control systems, visitor management, and contractor compliance must be managed securely, ensuring the handling of sensitive information and equipment is in line with security protocols and government policies.

Protecting sensitive information and adhering to government policies using secure systems for managing clearance information is also part of this role.

Furthermore, the Facilities Manager will lead and supervise facilities and administrative staff, providing training, performance evaluations, and professional development.


Required Skills and Qualifications

* Proven experience in facilities management and security operations, ideally within the Defence or a similarly regulated industry.
* Knowledge of Australian Defence security regulations, including the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP), Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and other Defence-specific security protocols and relevant legislation.
* Experience in managing physical office spaces and coordinating maintenance and safety compliance.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively, with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating with external vendors and contractors.
* Experience and/or interest in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).
* Current or reinstatable Australian Defence security clearance (minimum NV1 level).
