With significant investment into Australian manufacturing operations and continued global expansion, the business is looking to strengthen its Applications team to support both existing customers and future growth. About the role This role acts as the technical bridge between customers and the commercial team, ensuring packaging solutions perform effectively within customer production environments. You'll work closely with food manufacturers to support product implementation, troubleshoot packaging issues, conduct site audits, and provide hands-on technical expertise that supports customer retention and business growth. This is a highly autonomous role suited to someone who enjoys travelling, working directly with customers onsite, and solving technical and operational challenges within food manufacturing environments. The position can be based in either VIC or NSW and will involve frequent travel across both states, as well as occasional national travel depending on customer requirements. Most weeks will involve spending the majority of time onsite with customers, with typically one to two days working from home. Key responsibilities
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting at customer manufacturing sites.
* Support packaging trials, product validations, and implementation activities.
* Partner with the sales team to provide technical expertise during customer engagements.
* Conduct customer site audits and identify packaging or process improvement opportunities.
* Support applications involving vacuum packaging systems and flexible film solutions.
* Collaborate with internal Sales, R&D, and Production teams to deliver technical outcomes.
* Build strong relationships with customers across food manufacturing operations.
* Travel regularly across VIC, NSW, and nationally as required.
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in the following
* Technical applications, technical support, or technical sales within flexible packaging or food packaging environments.
* Background working for packaging manufacturers, packaging suppliers, or food manufacturing businesses.
* Strong troubleshooting capability within production or packaging environments.
* Ability to work autonomously and manage customer relationships independently.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Comfortable with regular travel and customer-facing responsibilities.
