About the opportunity
As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for contract development (new contracts and renewals) for Jetstar Australia and New Zealand and the Jetstar Group for engineering goods and services. This position focuses on developing engineering supplier contracts that ensure full compliance with technical and company specifications, including safety standards, and delivering optimal total cost of ownership.
The ideal candidate will have a technical background in engineering goods and services with experience in contract development and complex sourcing strategies.
Reporting and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Contracts and Vendor Performance, your main responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing and delivering new contracts and renewals aligned with business needs and group policies.
2. Creating business education materials to ensure contractual rights and obligations are understood.
3. Collaborating with suppliers and stakeholders to understand business needs.
4. Running tenders and requests for proposals, and executing sourcing strategies.
5. Working independently and within a team, liaising with internal stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
To succeed, you should demonstrate:
* A tertiary qualification in business, finance, or engineering.
* Desirable MCIPS accreditation.
* Significant experience in a similar role, preferably in aviation or engineering industries.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Excellent contract drafting and communication skills.
* Strong financial analysis skills, especially in Excel.
* Business acumen and negotiation experience.
* High attention to detail and professionalism in supplier interactions.
