Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'. Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdiction's own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly. The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. It has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community. About the Role The Senior Practice Standards Advisor is responsible for the development and implementation of practice improvement and professional development processes across a range of court programs and services, including family violence, pre-sentencing/bail support, and post-sentencing programs. The role will ensure practices align with current evidence-based approaches to meet the needs of the court and relevant court users. This role will support state-wide consistency and adoption of effective risk and need assessment tools and processes, high-quality case formulation approaches, appropriate records management, and lead and support quality review processes. Key accountabilities include: * Providing support and advice to Managers, front line staff in supporting participants and court users within court programs. * Supporting the review of and development of policy, process and practices to ensure quality service delivery. * Working with colleagues to develop workplans and identify priorities within the new division. * Supporting the development of quality review, case review and auditing process to ensure consitency in quality managment of programs About You * Graduate qualification in a relevant field including social work, psychology, allied health or disability and/or equivalent skills, experience and training. * Extensive experience in clinical practice governance within the mental health, family violence, AOD or disability service sectors. * Sound knowledge of evidence informed practice models and frameworks for working with clients with complex mental health and/or disability support needs, including trauma informed, client and family centred practices. * Excellent communication skills - including the capacity to present and interact with Case Managers, leadership teams, Magistrates, Police Prosecution and other members of the court.
