Find purpose and impact

As a Senior Strategic Planner, you'll play an essential role in facilitating the future sustainable growth and development of the Dubbo region as part of our Growth Planning Team. You'll have an exciting opportunity to make an impact in achieving community outcomes through planning and development of Renewable Energy Zones and contribution plans for urban growth areas. In this role you'll be at the center of progression for the Dubbo region through the development of strategic land use strategies, managing Council's development contributions framework and engaging with Council stakeholders and the community.

You'll make an impact by:

* Developing and reviewing key strategic planning documents to guide further sustainable growth and development of the Local Government Area
* Preparing and reviewing Council's Development Contributions Plans
* Assisting and providing advice in the development of Council strategies that may require funding through development contributions
* Assisting in the provision of relevant up to date planning controls for flood prone land
* Proactively communicating, educating and engaging with stakeholders and the wider community to facilitate the continuing sustainable development of our Region

What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

* Bachelor Degree in Planning, Environmental Science, Geography or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the preparation of land use and planning strategies, instruments and policies.
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the preparation of development contributions plans, planning agreements and works-in-kind agreements.
* Well-developed computer skills including experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications and electronic document management systems.

* Understanding of GIS and Land Information.

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $96,537 to $112,191.
