Working in the Ministerial and Parliamentary Team, you are part of a well-supported team and you will see first-hand how your work makes a positive contribution to the NIAA and its stakeholders.Ministerial and Parliamentary Officers are professional and approachable, providing assistance and services to a range of stakeholders and team members. They make decisions under defined procedural parameters and offer suggestions for improvements to processes within the team or branch. The Ministerial and Parliamentary Officer is a team player who can work collaboratively, and respectfully, with other team members.The APS 4 role may include some, or all, of the following:process and manage ministerial correspondenceassist with enquiries from external agencies and stakeholdersexercise discretion and judgementcontribute to the improvement of guidelines and provide adviceco-ordinate briefs and information requestscontribute to a culture aligned with NIAA values.The APS5 role, along with the above, may include some, or all, of the following:assist with the management of the administration and maintenance of the NIAA’s Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS) tenant including helpdesk serviceassist with the management of Ministerial and Executive correspondenceengage with stakeholders around the handling of ministerial itemsassist with the management of time-critical ministerial reportingassist with management of the Question Time briefs process and Questions on Noticeassist with the coordination the Agency’s appearance at Senate Estimates hearings and Committee Inquiriesassist with the coordination of briefs and information requests for the Ministerundertake quality assurance processes for ministerial correspondence and briefs including courier dutiesundertake planning and implementation of small-scale projects in the teamwork with team leadership when implementing and consolidating new or changed processes.Our Ideal Candidate:First and foremost, our ideal candidates will enjoy working as part of a small, fun and dynamic team. Our ideal candidates will have attention to detail, a sound working knowledge of ministerial and parliamentary processes or the capacity to develop these skills quickly. Experience in coordinating ministerial and parliamentary material on PDMS and/or the Digital First System will be considered as highly desirable.People who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment that has a high degree of visibility within the Minister’s Office and the NIAA will be perfect for these roles.
