* Research major law reform issues that shape life in Victoria. * Work on a high-profile inquiry about protecting emergency workers on duty. * Write reports and policy advice that may influence future Victorian laws. * Join a small expert team that values strong ideas and clear thinking. * 2 x Fixed term, 14-month vacancies available, earning $116,413 to $128,631 per year, plus super. What you will do As senior research & policy officer, you will help deliver a major Victorian law reform inquiry. You will research complex issues, consult with the community and help produce law reform reports. You will: * conduct high-level legal and policy research across complex law reform topics * draft clear reports, briefing papers and consultation material for varied audiences * develop practical options and recommendations to improve Victorian law and practice * lead discussions, answer questions and contribute ideas during project meetings * work with diverse groups and individuals during consultations, round tables and public events. About you You must hold a legal qualification. Experience in law reform or community consultation will also help you succeed in this role. You should also have: * strong legal and policy research skills across complex subject areas * the ability to write clear material for both legal and non-legal audiences * excellent communication skills and confidence speaking with varied groups * the ability to manage large volumes of information and meet deadlines.
