We are expanding our engineering team and are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to support design, production and continuous improvement within our fabrication operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop fabrication drawings, designs and specifications for structural steel components
* Support manufacturing processes including welding, machining and assembly
* Conduct engineering calculations, material selection and quality checks
* Liaise with production teams to resolve technical challenges
* Assist in planning, scheduling and monitoring of workshop activities
* Ensure compliance with Australian standards and WHS requirements
* Participate in process improvement and cost‑efficiency initiatives
* Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders
Skills & Experience
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
* Experience in fabrication, manufacturing or heavy engineering preferred
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar)
* Strong understanding of steel structures, welding and workshop processes
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to communicate effectively with workshop and design teams
* Strong attention to detail and focus on quality outcomes
