About the role
The lecturer's primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities (PA) and Activities Related to Delivery (ARD).
To maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.
Qualifications
- Certificate III in Hairdressing (or equivalent)
- At least 5 years of vocational or lecturing experience relevant to this position with an ability to facilitate and encourage learning
- Minimum qualification to deliver accredited vocational education and training (VET) as defined by the Standards for RTOs 2015 or successors:
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or TAE40116 or TAE40110) or • Secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011 or TAESS00019 or TAESS00024)
Applicants not yet holding the minimum VET credentials may apply; South Metropolitan TAFE will require the successful candidate to be enrolled and commence training in an approved credential, with satisfactory progress to complete within two years from commencement.

Eligibility for employment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory Department of Education Criminal Clearance.
