(pro rata: $29,358.25 for 15.2 hrs/week) - Employment Type: 2x ongoing, part-time positions (15.2 hours per week) THE ROLE We are seeking two motivated and organised part - time Junior Science Academy Supervisors to j oin our passionate and dedicated team. In this role, you will support the development and delivery of engaging STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) holiday and outreach programs for children, both on and off campus. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of programs and events, while mentoring casual educators and university students. Working closely with the JSA Holiday Programs Coordinator, you will also assist with logistics, update program systems, prepare resources, and help ensure all children are safe, supported, and actively engaged throughout the program experience. Availability on Wednesdays is required. Flexibility on other workdays and hours may be considered for the right candidate. This role may also involve occasional evening or weekend work to support program delivery and events. ABOUT YOU We’re looking for an enthusiastic and capable individual with a strong interest in STEAM education and child development. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Program Delivery & Logistics: Assist in the development and delivery of STEAM programs (on and off-site), including preparing resources, coordinating staffing and bookings, and ensuring equipment is safe and ready. Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentoring to casual educators and university students, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment. Content Development: Contribute to the creation and review of educational content, including lesson plans and learning materials. Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong, responsive communication with families, schools, and university staff to support positive relationships and program outcomes. Safety, Compliance & Inclusion: Uphold child safety, WHS, and equity standards, ensuring all participants are safe, supported, and included. To succeed in this role, you will need to meet the following selection criteria : Relevant t ertiary qualification or e quivalent experience in a rel ated field. A genuine passion for STEAM and its application in educational settings. Experience working with children, and a strong understanding of child development. Knowledge of Child Protection Laws and best practices for child safety. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a capacity to guide and support casual educators and university students. Ability to work flexibility and decisively under pressure. and adapt to changing priorities as required. Excellent organisational and time-management skills to manage logistics and ensure smooth delivery of programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
