In line with our Customer First Strategy and to support our continued success online, Myer's "state of the art" National Distribution Centre (NDC) based in Ravenhall utilises automated solutions to centrally replenish stock to stores, as well as servicing the fulfilment needs of our online customer.
Reporting to the NDC Manager, the Operations Manager will establish and maintain a multi-skilled team supporting multi-channel fulfilment nationally, delivering excellent customer service and support activities that are operationally efficient, effective, safe and compliant.
About the role:
* Ensure exceptional delivery of daily operations, driving optimal performance from all workplace resources including automation
* Continually improve and maintain operational activities to drive efficiency, service, safety, engagement and value
* Manage financial aspects of operation, ensuring cost-effective operation and continuous workflow
* Assist in the management of all site activities including building compliance, loss prevention, security, maintenance scheduling and licencing requirements
* Manage significant change as the site develops through go-live and into first phase of operation
* Implement and lead initiatives within the NDC, partnering with support functions throughout Supply Chain and other business units
* Establish and maintain key relationships with Myer stores, support office, contractors, freight forwarders, authorities and third parties
* Accountable for providing agreed levels of service to Myer stores through the efficient and effective management of a broad range of logistics activities
About you:
* Experienced leadership with highly developed people management skills within very large multi-functional teams
* Ability to drive high performance through coaching, mentoring and development
* Strong operational experience in distribution warehousing, automation, online fulfilment, transport management and retail warehousing
* Experience with freight forwarder container management, customs, trusted trader and quarantine procedures
* Demonstrable success with cost and productivity management and the ability to develop objectives in line with KPI's, timelines and relevant metrics
* Experience managing volume planning, forecasting, change management, work force agility and/or continuous improvement
* Supply Chain tertiary qualifications highly regarded
