The Opportunity
The Financial Controller role offers a rare chance to shape the finance function of a mission-driven education group.
Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, you will provide hands-on support, mentor a small team, and help build a more robust and future-ready finance capability.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including BAS, statutory lodgements, and regulatory compliance.
Manage external audits and support smooth audit preparation (December–February cycle).
Lead and develop a small highly capable finance team.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.
Produce dashboards and management reports to support timely, data-driven decision-making.
Provide insights and analytical support to campus and executive leadership teams.
About You
You will thrive in this role if you are hands-on, adaptable, and energized by challenge and growth.
To be considered, you will ideally be immediately available and possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Accounting and CA / CPA qualification.
Demonstrated experience overseeing a finance function and leading a team.
Confidence managing compliance, BAS, audit, and financial governance.
Strong analytical and reporting capability, including dashboard development.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Experience within the education or not-for-profit sectors (desirable but not essential).
Experience with TASS or Power BI is highly advantageous.
