Join our Mareeba plant as a Maintenance Manager and lead the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our operations.
The position reports to the Site Manager and has direct working relationships with the Production Manager, Production Supervisor, Distribution Manager, Distribution Supervisor, Production Planner, Baiada Poultry contractors and suppliers, and on occasion, other Baiada sites.
Key Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
The position of Maintenance Manager is primarily responsible for the budgeting, planning and implementation of all preventative and emergency maintenance and procurement and installation of plant, equipment, buildings and infrastructure associated with the operation of the Mareeba Processing Plant whilst ensuring that all work on the site is carried out in a safe manner to adhere to Baiada Poultry budgets, standards and systems.
Required Skills (Must-haves):
* Structured leadership training including conflict resolution and problem solving
* Structured project management training
* Extensive experience, preferably in management, in all facets of maintenance of an intensive food processing plant or similar
* Structured training in all facets of WHS including contractor management
* Trade qualifications in a related discipline
* Knowledge of food processing industry
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Ability to make quick and correct decisions "on the job" and throughout a production day
* Ability to set-up plant and equipment to achieve efficiency targets set for plant and equipment operation
* Ability to use hard copy and computer-based maintenance schedules on a weekly, daily and hourly basis
* Excellent planning skills particularly in relation to control of a maintenance workforce through a daily production process which overlaps several shifts
* A knowledge of Quality systems, HACCP procedures, WHS and understanding of how maintenance work could impact on the environment
* Extensive management experience in maintenance management of a medium size manufacturing Plant.
