OverviewThe registered professional nurse is responsible for utilizing job skills to effectively carry out the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, evaluation, documentation and time management.
She/he is responsible for quality communication, teamwork and leadership/professionalism.
Also directs, coordinates and implements patient teaching, quality/safety initiatives, and activities of other health team personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.ResponsibilitiesApply the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, evaluation, documentation, and time management.Ensure quality communication, teamwork, leadership and professionalism in clinical practice.Direct, coordinate and implement patient teaching and quality/safety initiatives; supervise activities of other health team personnel; maintain standards of professional nursing.Fulfills role of RN III as assigned for the population served, including completion of yearly mandatory competencies and any unit-specific competencies identified by the Director/Designee.Complete Professional Practice Ladder requirements including assuming responsibility as Charge Nurse, PI Activity, department initiatives, and participation in unit or hospital committees; maintain an annual portfolio submitted to the Director/Designee by March 1st.Participate in committee work, provide validation of participation, solicit and validate patient/family satisfaction, participate in peer reviews for the unit, and develop educational materials for staff, patients, and family members.QualificationsRegistered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.Annual mandatory competencies and unit-specific competencies as identified by leadership.Willingness to participate in committees and educational activities; ability to communicate and share information with Director/Designee and coworkers.Portfolio maintenance and adherence to Professional Practice Ladder requirements; ability to develop and present educational materials.BenefitsA Zero-Deductible Health PlanDental and vision insuranceGenerous Paid Time OffTuition AssistanceRetirement Savings MatchEmployee Assistance Program for emotional wellbeingHealthy U Wellness ProgramHealth savings account & flexible spending accounts; life insurance; disability; professional developmentDiscounts to on-campus dining and other perks as part of being the largest employer in the regionFor full details, visit valleyhealthbenefits.com
