In this role, you'll:
Working within our Fleet Maintenance Team at Sydney Trains, the primary purpose of our Train Technician is to take responsibility for providing in-service train fault management and incident response for Sydney Trains and NSW Trains fleet, operating across the network, to ensure the effective and timely resolution of mechanical, electrical, structural and technological problems that have the potential to cause train failures and impact on network performance.
This role is accountable for executing safety responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities consistent with Sydney Trains safety management system requirements.
About you
You will investigate, diagnose and repair/mitigate in-service problems and defects to electrical, mechanical, structural and technological systems, equipment and components. All faults must be accurately diagnosed and relayed to relevant stakeholders. Communication must be of the highest standard.
You will ensure the fault response provided to in-service problems and defects is performed in accordance with relevant safety guidelines; meets minimum train operating standards; mitigates the potential for train failures, and minimises the impact to network performance.
You will provide rolling stock expertise during train fault mitigation and incidents (and investigations) to support the return of rolling stock to operation and safety of stakeholders concerned.
You will ensure in-service fault management response information is captured accurately and disseminated in a timely manner to support maintenance and operational requirements.
You will also consistently deliver efficiency and set a platform for increased commerciality.
