Senior Consultant specialising in Generative AI & MLOps to support key client within the Banking and Financial Services sector.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Melbourne, Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish and deploy AI-driven solutions tailored to internal audit, compliance, and risk control functions, focusing on automation of manual processes through Generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and LLM orchestration frameworks.
* Design, develop, and manage scalable ML pipelines using Google Cloud Vertex AI, enabling secure, reproducible model deployment across UAT and production environments under SOC2-compliant frameworks.
* Build and operationalize real-time model monitoring and drift detection systems using Prometheus and custom alerting logic, ensuring regulatory-grade reliability of deployed models.
* Lead the implementation of containerized CI/CD pipelines (Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Build) for secure model versioning, auditability, and enterprise DevOps compliance.
* Optimize training and inference workflows on GPU infrastructure (e.g., NVIDIA A10G), applying TensorFlow and CUDA to meet performance SLAs for high-volume risk and control use cases.
* Collaborate with risk, data governance, and compliance stakeholders to integrate AI solutions with enterprise-wide audit protocols, reduce manual oversight, and align with internal review policies.
* Deliver end-to-end MLOps lifecycle management—from structured/semi-structured data ingestion (Pandas, Spark) through to model tuning, evaluation, retraining, and audit traceability.
* Drive internal research pilots focused on multi-agent LLM orchestration (LangChain, Pinecone) including memory management, agentic task planning, and secure enterprise knowledge retrieval.
* Support the development of benchmarking frameworks to assess control maturity, RCA quality, and AI/ML performance across internal divisions and business units.
Required Qualification and Experience
* 6–10 years of experience across AI/ML systems, enterprise IT, and risk/regulatory environments (financial services preferred).
* Post-Graduation in Data Science, Information Systems, or Business Analytics.
* Domain exposure in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), MLOps, and regulatory reporting (e.g., Basel, APRA).
Required Skills and Attributes
* Strong ability to design and present technical solutions aligned with internal risk frameworks, security protocols, and regulatory controls.
* Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience across compliance, audit, and IT leadership functions.
* Broad expertise in AI system architecture, CI/CD workflows, and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, MLflow).
* Advanced knowledge of Python-based data and ML stacks including TensorFlow, Pandas, NumPy, Spark.
* Working experience in programming secure LLM workflows and vector-based retrieval systems using LangChain, Pinecone, and GPT APIs.
* Hands‑on knowledge of GCP components (Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Build, GKE).
* Analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and ability to work autonomously in high‑accountability environments.
