Community Paediatrician (Child Development/ Neurodisability)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Paediatrician to join our dynamic Community Paediatric Team based at Seaside View Child Development Centre in Brighton. As a key member of the team, you will play a lead role in assessing children with concerns about neurodevelopment/neurodisability and collaborating with multiagency planning for children with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake assessment of children referred with concerns about neurodevelopment/neurodisability.
* Provide advice for children with special educational needs and disability.
* Collaborate with multiagency planning for children with complex needs.
* Contribute to multiagency planning for children with safeguarding concerns.
* Hold an area of lead responsibility (to be decided).
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Qualifications and Professional Registration:
* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice.
* MRCPCH or equivalent.
* Certificate of Completion of Training in Paediatrics or equivalent.
* Inclusion on the Paediatric Specialist Register (or within 6 months at time of interview).
Experience:
* At least two years of Higher Specialty Training in Community Child Health/Paediatric Neurodisability/Neurology or equivalent experience.
* Experience in the field of safeguarding/child protection.
* Experience of carrying out an audit project.
Skills and Knowledge:
* Effective clinical skills.
* Demonstrable management, leadership and motivational skills.
* Ability to manage own time and workload and prioritise clinical work.
* Ability to work successfully in a multi-professional/disciplinary team and across organisational boundaries.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to deal effectively with pressure.
* Thoroughness and attention to detail.
