About the role
You will support the Finance Partner in managing the financial operations of this Territory-wide defence contract, covering multiple bases. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. You will also play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic financial planning and analysis.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Preparing and maintaining accurate financial reports, statements, and records.
* Assisting in the preparation and management of budgets, including forecasting and variance analysis.
* Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
* Overseeing accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate processing.
* Conducting financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
* Monitoring and controlling costs to ensure budget adherence and identify areas for cost savings.
* Supporting the management of financial aspects of contracts, including billing and reconciliation.
* Assisting with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
* Liaising with various stakeholders, including military personnel, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure effective financial management.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial documentation and records.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
* Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Ideally 3+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a defence or government contracting environment.
* Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
* Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
* Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders.
* Professional certification such as CPA is highly desirable but not essential.
You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
