Our client is seeking a detail-focused Project Accountant to join their team on a 12-month contract based in Nedlands. This role is ideal for someone with experience in project and grant accounting who enjoys providing financial support, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance across multiple projects. What you’ll be doing: Providing operational financial support for research grants and commercial contracts Managing transactional finance and accounting processes, including journals, accruals, deferrals, and reconciliations Supporting the Finance Business Partner in budgeting, grant applications, and financial reporting Partnering with stakeholders to monitor expenses, resolve variances, and provide accurate cost centre reports Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax law, and internal policies Assisting with audits and maintaining high levels of financial data integrity Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and special projects to enhance finance services Collaborating with internal teams to ensure payroll, project amendments, and financial processes are completed efficiently What you’ll need: Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline Membership, or working towards membership, with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or CPA Australia Minimum 12 months’ experience in accounting or finance supporting project or grant activities Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with accurate data entry capabilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement skills Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines What’s in it for you: Opportunity to work across research projects and grants, building valuable experience A supportive and collaborative team environment Exposure to financial systems, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives How to apply: To submit your application for this position please click on the "APPLY" button.
