Zenon is delighted to be supporting a very well-established fixed wing maintenance provider to recruit a Maintenance Manager for the operations based in Australia.
The successful candidate will lead and manage the Engineering Department within a CASA Part 145 environment. This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant and efficient maintenance operations while supporting business objectives and customer outcomes.
The position also holds the Responsible Manager (RM) role with CASA and plays a key part in regulatory liaison, workforce leadership, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Act as Responsible Manager (RM) under the CASA Part 145 MOE
Lead, manage and support the Engineering and Technical Services teams
Liaise with CASA on regulatory and compliance matters
Ensure maintenance activities are conducted safely, efficiently and in compliance with CASA regulations
Oversee workforce rostering, fatigue management, and competency requirements
Ensure facilities, tooling, equipment, and materials are fit for purpose
Project manage approved maintenance checks and engineering activities
Ensure all maintenance is correctly certified and records retained in line with statutory requirements
Maintain compliance with MOE, Part 145 MOS, CASR 1998 and company standards
Manage quoting and project pricing in liaison with customers, Project Manager and CEO
Lead audits, address quality findings, and promote the Safety Management System (SMS)
Conduct performance reviews, toolbox talks and team meetings
Minimum Skills And Experience
Proven management experience in an aviation maintenance environment
Strong working knowledge of CASA Part 145, Part 42 and CAR 30
Aircraft Engineering Licence relevant to fixed-wing aircraft types or relevant allied trade qualification with a minimum of 5 years' experience in turboprop aircraft maintenance in a similar leadership role
Qualification in Aircraft Engineering, Aviation Management or Business (Advanced Diploma desirable)
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
