Our Client
Gatekeeper Systems is a world leader in advanced loss-prevention technology, supporting over 90% of major retail organisations globally. With significant annual growth and continued expansion across Australia and New Zealand, they are strengthening their technical capability with a Field Application Technician who can support system installs, commissioning and on-site troubleshooting across the region.
Role
Reporting directly to the ANZ Field Applications Manager and based out of Dandenong, you'll be responsible for configuring equipment, commissioning systems, and travelling nationally (and at times across APAC) to support installations. The role combines hands-on technical work, RF and electronic diagnostics, system tuning, site surveys and troubleshooting across routers, switches, cameras and other solution components.
You will also assist in developing site plans, work across departments to resolve communication issues, and ensure all systems meet Australian standards. Flexibility for occasional night or weekend work is required as part of supporting live retail environments.
Skill Requirements
* Background in electronics, telecommunications, RF systems or low-voltage equipment
* Understanding of RF theory, wiring methods and correct connection techniques
* Ability to configure routers, switches, WiFi and cellular devices
* Solid understanding of WiFi, Bluetooth and commercial RF systems
* Ability to splice and solder wires
* Experience with CCTV and alarm systems (AXIS experience beneficial)
* Competent reading 2D engineering/mechanical drawings; AutoCAD experience ideal
* Comfortable using a laptop to configure, update and reprogram devices
* Experience installing devices in retail or commercial settings
* Experience running cables through ceilings/walls and using power tools and scissor lifts
Desirable Experience
* Site surveying
* Generating 2D CAD drawings
* RFID & IoT understanding
* LAN/WAN knowledge
* Ability to tune-test, troubleshoot and commission electrical/electronic devices
