About the role
Focus Minerals is currently seeking an experienced Underground Mine Geologist to join the team on site working on an 8/6 roster.
You will be responsible for contributing and providing technical support to the Geology Department and assist with the overall support of the Underground Mining operation at Bonnie Vale.
Your expertise in drill program design, execution, and data interpretation will be instrumental in identifying new resource opportunities and driving the long-term success of our operations.
Key responsibilities
Guide and develop Graduate Mine Geologists to boost team performance and engagement.
Collaborate with technical teams to implement mining methods that reduce dilution and optimize resource recovery.
Provide accurate geological models and reports to inform management decisions on production and budgeting.
Design and oversee Resource Definition programs to extend the Life of Mine and enhance resource reserves.
Manage grade control and near-mine Resource Definition drilling activities.
Conduct detailed mapping and reporting to build a comprehensive geological knowledge base.
Maintain and refine geological and structural models, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology.
Solid experience in an underground production mining environment.
Experience in geological modelling with exposure to resource estimation.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and mining software such as Datamine and Leapfrog.
Possess a valid manual driver's licence.
