An excellent opportunity to join the Brisbane-based legal team of a major international infrastructure and engineering group, supporting businesses and projects across the Asia Pacific region. Based in Brisbane, the role sits within an established and growing legal team of four supporting operations across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. The business continues to expand across the region and this role has been created as part of the ongoing growth of the legal function. For the right lawyer, this is a chance to move into a broad in-house role with exposure to corporate, transactional and governance work across multiple jurisdictions, while working closely with a collaborative and highly regarded legal team. The roleReporting into the Brisbane-based General Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel, you will work closely with stakeholders across the business and collaborate with legal colleagues across the Asia Pacific region. The work is broad, commercially focused and will likely include: supporting M&A and investment activity across the Asia Pacific region advising on corporate governance and company secretarial matters across multiple entities drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements assisting with corporate restructures and strategic internal projects coordinating with external advisers across multiple jurisdictions You will gain exposure to the group's operations across Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand, providing a level of international exposure rarely seen in Brisbane-based in-house roles. The broader legal team is young, collaborative and highly regarded internally, with opportunities to attend international legal team conferences and events as part of the group's global legal function. Who this role could suitThis opportunity could suit a lawyer with around 2–5+ years' experience who has worked on corporate, commercial or transactional matters, either in private practice or in-house. Candidates may come from a range of firm environments, including mid-tier or boutique practices, provided they have gained exposure to transactional or corporate/commercial advisory work.
