As a Property Underwriter, you will work closely with Senior Underwriters to service new and existing business. You will develop and utilise a broad knowledge of our General Property product offering to handle complex tasks and support broker & customer enquiries. Your superior communication and organisational skills will help you achieve sales and retention targets while engaging regularly with the market.
You will also be responsible for:
* Underwriting and managing a portfolio of Commercial Property insurance risks according to company standards, underwriting authority, and service levels.
* Assessing and evaluating risk exposures to determine appropriate terms, premiums, and conditions.
* Collaborating with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to develop tailored insurance solutions.
* Contributing to portfolio profitability through sound underwriting judgment, pricing discipline, and risk selection.
* Participating in client and broker meetings to build and maintain strong business relationships.
* Providing technical expertise, mentoring, and support to junior underwriters as needed.
* Maintaining compliance with local regulatory and global requirements.
* Contributing to product development and enhancement initiatives in the Property space.
Important for success - grow with us
Multiple years of Property underwriting experience within commercial/general insurance.
Tertiary qualification in insurance, business, or a related discipline (ANZIIF desirable).
Proven ability to analyse and assess risk across various industry sectors.
Strong broker relationship management and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with insurance legislation and regulatory requirements in Australia.
