About The Role
This position will provide forensic mental health legal academic input to the Master of Forensic Mental Health program within the Discipline of Psychiatry and Mental Health. You will contribute to the design and delivery of the program by supporting the planning and execution of both core and elective courses. You will be expected to foster an engaging learning environment through a clear and evolving teaching philosophy that motivates postgraduate students. The position will also require the development of high‐quality online course materials and actively facilitate and moderate student discussions during course delivery.
Key Skills And Experience Required
* Undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualifications in a field relevant to Forensic Mental Health Law (e.g. undergraduate and/or postgraduate law degree), and/or relevant work experience (e.g. experience as a practicing lawyer in mental health contexts).
* Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of current issues in forensic mental health law.
* Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
* Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate and/or professional.
* Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline‐based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales).
* Demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry partners and stakeholders.
* Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
