The Program The Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) assists newly arrived refugees in settling into their new environment by offering practical support and guidance. HSP volunteers help clients adjust to a new country and community by providing essential support during the initial settlement period. Volunteers work in tandem with Red Cross caseworkers and Community Navigators to build confidence, self-sufficiency, and community connections for refugees. The Opportunity HSP volunteers are friendly, accepting, and flexible individuals, who are motivated to support the learning and comfortable settlement of newly arrived refugees. As a HSP volunteer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ensuring a smooth settlement through the following areas: Welcome, Orientation, Admin, Employment, Transport, Bilingual Support, and Housing. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world’s largest humanitarian network. The Impact HSP volunteers are a vital connection between refugees and their new communities. As part of the Humanitarian Settlement Program, you will contribute to creating a friendly and inclusive environment that will help refugees feel welcome.
