**Electorate Office Support (EOA)**

Applications are invited for the casual position of Electorate Officer A in the Office of Senator Tammy Tyrrell based in the Senator's Electorate Office in Launceston, TAS.
**The key duties of the position are, but are not limited to**:
- Ensuring constituents are supported through their contact with the Electorate Office - including working with constituents to navigate available supports and undertaking referrals where appropriate with government agencies and services.
- Managing constituent enquiries and preparing correspondence and communications.
- Maintaining case notes, files, and records (electronic and hard copy).
- Attending community events and travel throughout the Electorate, which may require working on weekends and/or public holidays.
- Assist with organising and sourcing opportunities for events that promote and endorse the Senator's engagement.
- Maintaining a clean and safe workspace, contributing to a safe and respectful workplace culture, and abiding by work health and safety laws, policies, and procedures.
**The ideal applicant should possess the following skills, qualifications, and experience**:
- Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks.
- Strong community stakeholder engagement skills.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a small team to achieve results.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines with limited supervision.
- A keen interest in current affairs and an understanding of Australia's systems of government.
- Tolerance, patience, and a sense of humour.
While not necessary, prior administrative experience and qualifications in social work, welfare, legal studies, or a similar area will be looked on favourably.
**Additionally, applicants with the following skills and experience would be highly desirable**:
- A working knowledge of the practice and procedure of the Australian Senate.
- Experience in a political or community based office.
**Employment Conditions**:
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2020-2023 which include:
- Starting at 20 hours per week with flexible working arrangements and potential for additional hours during peak periods.
- A commencing salary between $69,046 and $73,098 (pro rata) will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills.
- As this is a casual position, a casual 20% salary loading is applicable.
- An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo a National Police History Check.
