This opportunity involves contributing to defence health services within a multidisciplinary team.Responsibilities You will be responsible for delivery of primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.You will form part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.You will play an integral role in assessing Defence personnel for fitness for duty and in the provision of care that will support the health and wellbeing of members pre and post deployments.You will be required to provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager and Commanders of units.You will be supported by a Team of Senior Medical Officers and uniformed colleagues.You may be required to provide the services in either an outpatient setting or inpatient care setting within a ward.Qualifications and Requirements The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).

The ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force personnel across Australia, including 45+ on-base locations.
ACT Health Centre supports Defence Headquarters within the region and offers a 24-bed ward with primary medical, nursing, mental health, dental, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy services.Standard hours for the role are generally, with specific craft group requirements for weekend and on-call shifts.
