About the Role
As a Youth Access Clinician, you will support youth mental health through providing counselling and brief intervention services to young people accessing the Geraldton Youth Hub.
Key responsibilities include:
* Provide early intervention mental health services to young people and their family (as appropriate) accessing the Geraldton Youth Hub, including receiving and processing referrals.
* Conduct initial intake of referrals to determine appropriateness for service, including responding to enquiries and assessment of risk.
* Provide psycho-social assessments and interventions using the Single Session Therapy model.
* Maintain accurate and timely case notes and records in approved database system.
* Deliver evidence-based brief interventions, including group interventions, psychoeducation, and skills training, with young people and their families.
* Liaise with relevant referrers and other services to promote a consistent and coordinated service delivery response for young people and their families.
* Participate in regular clinical case review meeting and multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure appropriate clinical service pathway and service delivery.

About You
To be considered for this position, applicants will have:
* Tertiary qualifications (Bachelors or higher) in a relevant discipline including Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or equivalent.
* Current membership or registration with an appropriate professional body.
* Demonstrated experience and ability to engage work with and coordinate care for young people aged 12 to 25 years in areas of mental health and substance use intervention.
* The ability to undertake screening and assessment to determine young person's needs level of risk and to refer to other services as appropriate.
* Experience in engaging with young people from 'at risk' populations including LGBTIQA+ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CaLD communities, young men. and young people who are homeless/ at risk of homelessness.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Willingness to work one late shift till 7:00pm (Monday or Thursday).
* 'C' Class Driver's Licence
