What you'll do
As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of AI solutions within Customer Success.
You will work on high-priority initiatives, applying your technical skills to build world-class customer experiences and contribute to innovative practices across the wider Woolworths Group.
GenAI System Development:Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of advanced Generative AI systems to transform our customer interactions across chatbots, call centres, and other digital touchpoints.
Machine Learning Model Development:Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models, working on everything from feature engineering and model selection to performance monitoring.
Data-Driven Problem Solving:Work closely with stakeholders to understand business problems, identify opportunities, and apply advanced analytical and data science methodologies to deliver solutions.
End-to-End Project Contribution:Participate in the end-to-end data science project lifecycle, from wrangling unstructured verbatim data and building models to deploying robust solutions into production.
Stakeholder Communication:Clearly communicate your findings and the value of your work to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What you'll bring
We are looking for a curious, hands-on, and collaborative problem-solver with a passion for applying cutting-edge AI to real-world challenges.
You are a skilled practitioner who is eager to learn and contribute to a high-performing team and bring commercial experience in a data science role applying AI/ML techniques to solve business problems.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics,
Generative AI:Hands-on experience with LLMs and Generative AI systems, including prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and using orchestration frameworks like LangGraph or Google ADK.
Machine Learning:Experience with the end-to-end design of ML models, including feature engineering, model selection, hyperparameter tuning, and model evaluation.
Tooling:Proficiency in a Python-first stack.
Familiarity with the modern Generative AI toolkit, including prompt optimisation frameworks like DSPy and evaluation tools such as DeepEval and Ragas.
Cloud & Deployment:Experience with a major cloud platform (GCP preferred) and an understanding of MLOps principles, including CI/CD and containerisation (Docker).
Data Application and Prototyping:Experience building interactive prototypes or data applications using Python frameworks like Streamlit or Dash.
