The Administration Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to the Facilities Department to assist with the smooth operation of managing the Council's facilities. The position supports the delivery of a range of services, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the Department through excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently manage administrative tasks.

Employment Status: Part Time, Limited Tenure; Up to (6) Six Months

Hours: Up to 3 days per week; Up to 24 hours per week

Award:Level 2 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017

Salary Range:$41.21- $43.87per hour.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will have:

| Essential Knowledge, skills and abilities |

* Well-developed clerical, administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to self-manage, determine work priorities, meet deadlines and workflows, utilising a high level of initiative.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills including a high level of verbal and written communication ability, and the ability to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of people.
* Advanced computer literacy with the ability to utilise finance, records management system and Microsoft Office suite, particularly word and excel, with the ability to prepare a wide range of correspondence and documentation including letters, reports and submissions.
* Ability to exercise judgement and initiative where procedures are not clearly defined.
* Ability to work independently or in a team in a professional and positive manner with the ability to be tactful, discrete and maintain confidentiality when dealing with matters of a sensitive nature.
* Flexible team player with a willingness to step in at times, where resource gaps are identified.

| Essential Education/Qualifications |

* Minimum education level of completion of Year 10 or equivalent.
* Possession and maintenance of a current Queensland 'C' Class Driver Licence.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/POSITION ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily an indoor role and requires sufficient physical ability to work in an office setting, which involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and operating a computer and telephone. May be required to carry out light to moderate manual handling, bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting, lifting and carrying.

In accordance with Councils P0199 Vaccinations and Health Monitoring Procedure, positions exposed to occupational diseases will be subject to the Workplace Immunisation Program.
