The Client
Guruji Resorts operates a hotel motel business in Gladstone in NSW. They are looking for an experienced and competent Hotel Motel Manager to oversee the hotel motel operations.
The Role
The position is a full-time Hotel Motel Manager role with an annual salary between $77,000 to $79,000 plus superannuation.
Responsibilities
* Manage, organize, and control overall accommodation, restaurant, and guest services of the motel.
* Supervise and delegate duties to supervisors and prepare work schedules.
* Supervise all sections and identify opportunities to improve service standards.
* Plan and organize departmental training sessions for staff.
* Ensure good communication between front office and other departments.
* Perform duties during night shifts, including reports and system checks.
* Control and manage expenses of all motel departments.
* Liaise with Housekeeping to ensure room availability and guest requirements are met.
* Participate in sales activities and refer leads to the sales office.
* Review reservation correspondence to understand guest needs and update accommodation software.
* Conduct inspections of areas under responsibility.
* Meet regularly with supervisors to convey information and instructions.
* Hold monthly meetings with department team members to discuss issues and solutions.
* Monitor system development processes for successful project completion.
Requirements
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Hospitality or Hotel Management.
* At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
* Experience with accommodation software such as Opera, Ciirus, Gocanvas.
* Experience managing daily hotel or motel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and guest services.
* Experience leading teams, staff supervision, scheduling, and performance management.
* Experience in financial management, budgeting, cost control, and revenue forecasting.
* Experience handling customer relations, resolving guest complaints, and ensuring service excellence.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to multitask calmly and efficiently.
* Enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude.
