Dill Corner Cafe is a local café located in East Geelong, Victoria, offering freshly prepared meals in a relaxed and welcoming environment. We focus on quality ingredients, consistent food standards, and friendly service for our regular customers and visitors. With steady trade and growing demand, we are seeking a skilled Cook to join our kitchen team and support daily café operations.
Location: 261 Myers St, East Geelong VIC 3219 Position: Cook – Full-Time Salary: $76,000 – $80,000 + Superannuation About the Role The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in line with café standards while supporting smooth kitchen operations.
This is a hands-on role requiring efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively during busy service periods. Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook café menu items including breakfast, lunch, and daily specials.
* Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation of all dishes.
* Assist with food preparation, mise en place, and service coordination.
* Monitor ingredient quality, freshness, and correct storage procedures.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas.
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
* Assist with stock control, ordering, and stock rotation.
* Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
* Support the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure timely service.
Skills & Experience
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
* 1
* 2 years of experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen or café environment.
* Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills.
* Attention to detail and commitment to consistent food quality.
