They are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to drive insight-led strategies and influence key stakeholders. Remotely based anywhere in Australia this role is excels in navigating commercial environments, mentoring teams, and simplifying data for non-technical stakeholders.
About the Role
- Analyse complex datasets to identify trends and generate business-critical insights (less emphasis on complex ML)
- Lead process improvements across internal workflows and data communication
- Collaborate with stakeholders across corporate, consulting, and agency contexts to ensure alignment and understanding
- Translate highly technical data concepts into transparent, actionable insights for product, sales, and executive teams
- Mentor junior Data Scientists and contribute to team development
What You Bring
- Advanced proficiency in Looker (or Tableau, Power BI, similar)
- Strong grasp of BigQuery and SQL fundamentals
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally, engaging both commercial and technical teams
- Experience presenting data to non-technical stakeholders (corporate, consulting, or agency settings)
- A track record of mentoring and developing team capabilities
- Experience with tech pre-sales, audits, or consulting functions
- Familiarity with performance-driven industries (e.g., hotel or tool booking websites leveraging Google/Facebook paid traffic)
- Comfort in fast-moving, high-growth startups, navigating ambiguity and scaling challenges
