Job Description
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to support, manage, and maintain production databases. This is a hands-on DBA role that also involves working closely with development teams on database design, SQL optimization, and performance tuning.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems (DBMS).
* Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions.
* Ensure data integrity and security by establishing database access controls and backup protocols.
* Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, indexing, and archiving.
* Develop and implement database recovery plans and disaster recovery strategies.
* Collaborate with development teams to design database schemas and optimize queries.
* Analyze and troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions.
* Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies.
Mandatory Skills
* Strong hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience
* Production database support experience
* Strong SQL development and query optimization skills
* Understanding of DB design, modelling, and performance tuning
* Experience working closely with development teams
